Chair: Hajra Khattak

Hajra is NIHR Academic Clinical lecturer and is based at University College London (UCL). She completed her doctoral studies on the topic of female fertility preservation (in particular ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation). Her other research interests include evidence synthesis, early pregnancy and medical education.

Secretary: Naomi Black

Naomi is an O&G registrar in the West Midlands and MD candidate researching recurrent pregnancy loss with the University of Warwick. Naomi graduated from Imperial College London in 2016 and was an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow between 2018-2021. Prior to joining the core committee Naomi was involved in several UKARCOG projects as a data collector and then regional lead for the West Midlands.

Statistics: Ian Henderson

Ian is an O&G trainee currently out of programme for an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship based in the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford. His PhD is on the use of early warning scores and systems in maternity and the prediction of maternal morbidity. He completed research fellowships with the RCOG National Maternity and Perinatal Audit and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship on perinatal epidemiology.

Webmaster: Jack Teh

Jack graduated from Imperial College London in 2021 and is an O&G trainee in North West London. He previously served as the media officer for the BUSOG between 2020-22 and liaises with UKARCOG for academic partnerships. His interest include maternal medicine, collaborative research, leadership and medical education.

Ally Buckle: Deputy representative for Wales

Ally graduated from Plymouth University Peninsula Medical School in 2020 with an intercalated Masters in Philosophy, Politics & Economics of Health, with themes in Women’s Health. During her Academic Foundation Program she worked in Critical Care research and lead the conception and delivery of the National Virtual Academic Conference, which encouraged and celebrated trainee involvement in clinical academia. She is currently ST1 O&G in South Wales, working on a project investigating post menopausal bleeding and UKARCOG Deputy Wales Trainee Rep.

Anangsha Kumar

Brenda F Narice

Brenda is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield exploring non-invasive biomarkers of cervical remodelling and infection in the context of preterm birth and premature rupture of membranes which can help improve perinatal outcomes. Her broader interests lie on feto-maternal medicine especially around imaging techniques, placental dysfunction, and infectious diseases.

Georgia Zachou

Georgia is an O&G trainee in North Central and East London, currently on an Out of Programme for Research. She has been awarded a clinical research fellowship in the National Ovarian Cancer Audit by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Alongside her audit responsibilities she is undertaking a PhD in ovarian cancer research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

Melina Rejayee

Mike Rimmer

Mike is a clinical lecturer and specialist registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Edinburgh. He undertakes translational research into infertility with a focus male fertility preservation. He is a passed chair of UKARCOG and currently a trainee scientific editor for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Naomi Clement

Naomi is an Academic Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Leeds. She graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2018 after completing her PhD in Genetics in 2017. Her interests are of functional genetic of maternal conditions (particularly diabetes) in fetal outcomes as well as ensuing the access of genomic investigations to all patients. She joined UKARCOG in 2021.

Shen Chuen (Adrian) Khaw: Lead representative for Scotland

Adrian graduated from the University of Edinburgh and is currently an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Speciality Trainee in the East of Scotland. His primary research interest is in reproductive medicine and he is passionate about collaborative research, learner-centred medical education and effective clinical governance for the delivery of patient-centred care. He welcomes any opportunities for collaboration or involvement in initiatives that align with these principles. 

Stella Steppings: Lead representative for Wales

Stella is an ST7 O&G Trainee in the Wales deanery with interests in global health, medical education and digital transformation. She is currently undertaking an MSc in Digital Transformation for the Health and Care Professions. She is a trainee member of the RCOG eLearning Editorial Board for Core Knowledge, and Mentorship Representative for the Trainees in Wales O&G Committee. She had a year out of programme as an Honorary Clinical Tutor in Swansea Medical School where she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. She travels to Uganda annually where she is training to be a fistula surgeon.

Tia Hunjan

Tia graduated from the University of Bristol and is currently an ST5 Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar in the North West Thames London Deanery. She has completed an MD in Reproductive Endocrinology focusing on hypoactive sexual desire disorder. She is interested in pursuing a career in Reproductive Medicine.

Una Mc Menamin

Úna is a Lecturer in Population Cancer Research in the Centre for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast and has research interests in gynaecological cancer and precancer. She is leading a UKRI-funded Future Leaders Fellowship to generate population-level evidence to inform diagnostic, treatment and surveillance strategies for women with diagnosed with endometrial cancer and its precursor condition, endometrial hyperplasia.
